Am I right in thinking that I need to take my new Citroen Picasso for a service inspection at 1000-1500 miles?

What does it entail and what does it cost?

Answers:
Check with your Handbook or dealer. Services at this stage are becoming less common.

However, if you intend to keep the vehicle for any length of time, make sure you change the oil MUCH more frequently than the manufacturer recommends.

If you do some research, you will find that the service intervals for cars on the UK market are often MUCH longer than for the identical car on the continent.

This is because in the UK a large proportion of cars are bought or subsidised by companies, and all the fleet manager is interested in is keeping down his costs. The manufacturers pander to this and extend the service intervals - very cynical!

Most experts seem to consider oil changes at 5,000 mile intervals a good idea.
I always thought you had to take it after 10,000 miles. I could be wrong though.
A full service costs approx £300
Will they refund your money?
