My car tax disc has been lost. Applied for new one is it ok still to drive my car?

Until my new disc arrives?

Answers:
I think it should be fine. if you have one of the new MOT forms, the police would just put your number plate in the computer and see that it is taxed.
You don't say what state you live in, but here in California I did the same thing and had no problem. I carried all my paperwork with me,and occasionally would get followed by a police squad car until I could see that they were checking their computer to see why I had no tags (what we call them here). They'd then break off and go get some nice fresh donuts. You'll probably be safe as long as you carry all that paperwork with you, so you have proof that you've done what you have to in order to comply with regulations, but to be safe you might want to check with your local Motor Vehicle Office. They might have the information on-line.
yes well if you applied for a new one you should have got a receipt or something to say you applied for a new one so that if the police do stop you you can show them
put a bit of paper in car window where disc usually is saying new tax disc applied for or reciept.if the cops stop you they can check from mainframe comp..
