How much will bigger wheels affect my punto's performance?
Answers:
If you get low profile tires you wont feel much of a difference - you may even be able to retain the rolling radius - which means that there'll be no difference at all..
Mind you the lower the profile the harder the ride..
DON'T get Profile 35..Whilst it looks cool it's a super hard ride - I have 35s & wish I'd gotten 40s instead.
The Toyo Proxes are a good piece of Rubber!

I would imagine any type of wheel will only marginally improve the Punto's performance
may make you go a bit faster but at the expense of more fuel.
for each turn of the wheel you will travel 2 - 3 inches further than you would have done with smaller wheels.
Doubt you wil notice it though.
Makes sure they fit under the wheel arch or else your puntos performance will go right down and that damn noise!
Fluffy dice hanging from your rear view mirror will add about 10mph to your top speed too!
Bigger wheels make the ride harder & stiffer. With less tyre (proportionaly) there is less 'bounce' and tyre flex.
This is great for cornering at high speeds.but can make the ride more uncomfortable.
It depends what you have in mind. If you intend to fit bigger wheels and lower profile tyres, so that the diameter and circumference stay the same, the only change will be to provide slightly more accurate steering response, but at the cost of a harsher ride.
So, it will not actually improve performance at all.
If, on the other hand, your intention is to have wheels and tyres with a LARGER circumference, the only effect would be a slight raising of the effective gear ratios in all gears. This would produce a slight reduction in acceleration, but a possible slight improvement in fuel consumption. In any event, the difference would be marginal.
If you do fit wheels and tyres which are larger overall, be sure that they will not foul body or suspension parts - this could be dangerous and expensive!
I hope this helps.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
You don't want to do that mate. I've got 16" on my corrado and my cars loads bigger. although it is more stable and cruises nicely over 100 but I'd prefer 14" and have better handling. If you put 17" on your punto.
It will accelerate slower.
Possibly have a few mph on top end.
When you try and do a turn in the road instead of doing a 3 point turn it will be 23.
and your likely to have to do loads of work on the arch's to get them to fit.
Also if you don't lower it it'll look like a 4x4.
Basically. it might seem like a good idea at the time but it'll end up costing you loads and reduce performance loads. get some wide 13" they'll be best
it won't it'll still be ****
It wont improve performance at all What it will do is is ruin the ride , ruin the handling, mess up your fuel economy and probably rub the hell out of the inside of your wheel arches.
lmao.u really think wheels will make a serious difference to the performance??? how old r u, 17, 18, 19? best way to improve performance is to get a decent car..lol
leave them standard spend your money on something useful.
they will be worth more than the car
I put 17 inch wheels on a clio and got worse fuel consumption - about 5 mpg and lost 5 mph in top speed, the ride was harsh but cornering grip and stability through fast corners was better
