Is mobil1 oil ok for a subaru impreza wrx sti?
Answers:
Synthetic is fine in any engine. There was a bit of an issue years ago, about using synthetic in high mile engines that had been using regular oil. The sythetic was so slippery, that it leaked out of seals that were holding normal oil (basically only due to gunk build-up.) Synthetics now have an additive in it to better combat this problem. Also, sythetics are fully mixable with regular oil. In fact, Mobil makes an oil called syth-blend. Castrol also has a synthetic blend, as do several other oil companies. All sythetic is, in non-technical jargon, is it has been refined (from regular oil) to a point where all the oil molecules are of an even size. Oil molecules vary in size considerably in normal oil, which works just fine, but the matched molecular structure of synthetics (not a very accurate or good term) makes them much more slippery.
well it ok but first u got to drain the old oil first if iam not wrong if u go synthetic i think u can change it back to the first oil that u had just if the old oil is synthetic ok
Yes.. no need for special treatment either.. just change it to syn and drive.
If you need or want to, you can always change back to conventional (or top up with conventional, etc)
