Is £1600 excessive for a gearbox rebuild and new clutch for a vauxhall movano?

Hi there that bill actually isnt that expensive, its a very labour intensive task to dismantle and reassemble a gearbox, also the parts are not cheap either so i dont think when you consider vat and other costs then its not too bad i know its steep but sadly thats the cost of motoring

Its sounds very expensive to me ! Have you actually give the garage the go ahead for the work because if its with the dealer you could try an independant garage for a quote as generally they will be much less expensive !
