What would you say is the best first car?
Answers:
Mini - definitely. Good handling not too fast for you to handle and cheaper insurance.
1976 ford pinto, it will make you appreciate technology.
Something you can afford to run and not in immaculate condition because chances are you will scratch or bump it anyway. Engine size 1.4 litre or less
Anything that can get you from A to B. You'll probably want something with a small engine, probably a 1.1/1.3 litre as anything else probably won't get insured or will cost way too much.
A good old fashion mini clubman estate. Fun to drive and you have enough space to store your stuff for camping and festivals.
Drove one for the first few years after passing my test and never stopped smiling and laughing whilst driving.
They are getting tricky to find but still fun
Audi a3 - they are cool, not to small and quite nippy!
Anything Honda or Toyota. My first car was a 1995 Toyota Camry and guess what? I am still driving it. Its great on gas, it never ever breaks down, all now its just routine maintenance. I have been driving it for 11 years.
Depends on your Budget and sense of style, mine was a mk3 golf, but I had the most amount of fun in a 1976 Mini, I would heartily reccomend them anytime, get something from the mid 90's and have a good laugh in it, cheap on insurance & dirt cheap to run!
Honda! really reliable and wont let you down, for a first car i'd suggest a civic L reg or slightly younger
My first car's a 1.0i Corsa, It's not fast, but it can reach the speed limits easily enough, It's small and easy to manoeuvre (power steering), and it's not a clapped out old banger that will die any time soon. By brother's first car was a Vauxhall Nova, (1.something) and it broke down almost weekly! He lived just far enough away from University that it was inconvenient to walk, and his car kept dying on him. Not ideal, really.
something easy, realiable easy to park and cheap to insure such as Fiestas, Polos, Puntos, jap cars tend to more expensive to insure
Depending on budget and how old u are--,
Had an L reg corsa 1.2 never went wrong for 3 years, very slow but cheap to insure. if i was 17 again i would buy a Ford ka, drove one few months ago as a courasy car. It was a 1.1 but it was quick enough, economical, and a laugh to drive. It may be a tad cak looking but its the best small car by a long way! Good in a accidents so i have heard from a good friend!
If you are older and have more money, focus 1.6 a v reg i bought for £2600, with 75k miles full service. brilliant car!
