I love my motorbike but I hate insuring it. Any advice on who to get insurance with and why?

Don't just say the cheapest! lol

Answers:
motorcycle direct £120 at only 27 for a ninja 600
It depends on the model of the bike

Carole Nash quoted me £1500 for my Ultra Glide
I said don't be silly
and they said okay then £500

Haggle, haggle, haggle my friend

Go online and don't be afraid to quote the competitions premiums
If you have a good insurance rating I would suggest Norwich Union direct.

Service is great, and quick. You only ever have to make one phone call to sort any problems.

But I would certainly shop around as they are not likely to be the cheapest
i looked at tesco's insurance today they seemed good i'd gone through the aa in march for insurance and tesco are beating the quote so will try them again in march .
It all depends what you want for the insurance tesco let you pick your excess so the higher you make it the cheaper the insurance.
In the uk. BENNETS or RED STAR.

(Bennets sponser bike racing as well, so go with them!)
Carole Nash specialise in motorbikes, but seem to have priced themselves out of the market
i think Norwich Union's giving the best quotes at the moment
bennetts-check them-£500 less than anyone else for my man!
try confused .com , whoever gives you the cheapest quote ring and most insurers are now beating the internet quote over the phone.
drive carefully bikers always scare me!

Here in the States the large motorcycle insurer is Progressive. I don't know if they offer coverage in the UK. (I'm guessing UK based on answers given and your use of the term "motorbike")

http://www.progressive.com/
try e.bike.co.uk good quotes, great breakdown service.
There are many good insurers out there and there is Norwich Union who ripped me off last year so I feel a moral duty to suggest that you try a company which is not Norwich Union
DON'T GO WITH GEICO! One of their drivers hit me last year, and when I reported it to them they immediately dropped their customer and claimed they couldn't reach her. They never updated their records, and refused to pay the claim without her side of the story. GEICO SUCKS BALLS!

Anyway, I pay about $600 per year for FULL coverage on my 600cc sportbike, including medical. I'm with USAA, but I've heard good things about Progressive and State farm.

I'd say that if you hate paying for motorcycle insurance, wait until you reach 25. Insurance companies really stick it to younger riders, and I've heard stories of $5,000+ premiums!

If you're older and STILL pay too much, you've got bigger problems with your driving/riding to deal with and need to clean your driving record up first.
Carole Nash

see if you can ask for a higher excess and a limited mileage (if you only ride a few thousand miles a year)
I ask, is it a pop-pop or a huge Harley, or Honda Vaklerie, such as I have in the garage? It makes a difference when it comes to insurance qoutes-renewals
I use good old Norwich Union - They don't seem to mind that the thing will do 180mph on a good day - not that I do that, of course.
Give them a bell, and say Bob the Boat recommended you.
Worth a try.

go to the insurance supermarket, get lots of really cheap quotes.
carole nash have been cheapest and best for me over the last 3 years, they will try to undercut the competition or at very least price match to keep the business.
I added my 88 Sportster to my State Farm account, took about 10 minutes, 5 of which was finishing the free coffee before I left. If you don't have State Farm, WAYSA?

Progressive couldn't beat them in price btw.
Hiya
