I have a kx 125 but the piston keeps smashing in it what is causing this problem can anyone help?

I'm guessing what you mean by "smashing" is that the piston is hitting something when it gets near the top of the cylinder. If that's the case, it could be a few things. First thing I have to ask is did you or someone else change the sparkplug latley? If so, you could've purchased the wrong plug and obtained one that was too long (by that I mean the part you thread into the cylinder). I've seen that simple mistake made on cars, bikes, and lawnmowers. The next two I'm thinking of are more serious. You could've dropped a valve or the wrist pin (the pin that holds the piston to the rod) could be loose. Both of these require engine teardown to see if that is actually the problem. Hope this helps.
It could be something simple like a wrong sized spark plug.
Or maybe a bent con-rod.
what do you mean by smashing in it
if you really mean smashing it as opposed to overheating and seizing, then if its not the spark plug as previously said,it must be travelling to far in the cylinder and hitting the cylinder head or the piston ring grooves are worn and the rings move and damage the piston, the key is the damage, were is it etc.show the piston to a mechanic in a bike shop he should know,in the motor trade they say every picture tells a story.good luck.
Definitely need more information on this one. If you really mean "smashing" then the first place to look is if you are putting in the correct piston for your model.
hi it sounds like something is not (square straight) in the engine possibly con rod or crank, or is something getting to hot ?are you using good oil and is the mix correct. BUT THE ADVISE ABOUT POSSIBLE VALVE TROUBLE I SHOULD DISREGARD.
1) Sparkplug too long, check your manual
2) Wrong year piston, could be too high on top
3) Power valve dropped into the cylinder, check the valve from the front of the jug
4) Cylilnder head or base gasket crushed, bringing the plug down.

Suggestion, time for a new top end job, new plug, piston and rings and get all new gaskets and dont forget to check your power valve, shouldnt cost you more than $150 if you do it yourself
Are you sure the timing is not out? That could burn a hole in the cylinder crown
check the spark plug if right size.
