TomTom One.?
Answers:
all GPS systems show your current location (assuming that they are switched on and the GPS satellites are working).
the map bit depends on whether your GPS system has the map for its current location. Some systems have maps for say the UK only, so if you used the device in say France you wouldn't get any map detail, but the GPS fucntionality will still work.
The postcode is only usefull for route planning - you can enter a postcode as your destination and tlet the system plot a route to get there. By definition the GPS knows where it is, the postcode you supply tells you where you wanto to go to.
so to summarise if the device is working, and has maps for the area you are currently in then you need do nothing else it will show you where you are right now, without any other intervention.
Yes, as is standard on all current GPS systems.
