Anyone got a toyota avensis and are they good?

Toyotas are pretty much bomb proof. If it is a petrol engined model, the only things to watch out for are wear in the gearbox bearings and the vvti models burn a little oil. You can check the gearbox by listening for an unusual sound mainly in 5th gear. The diesel engined cars are good for starship mileage. The only thing to watch out for is overheating on high milers, also the clutch on the D4D is expensive to replace as it has one of the new type flywheels which generally need replaced at the same time as the clutch assembly and a dealer will charge upwards of £800.

used to have one and was really pleased . spacious and comfy. never had any problems mechanically either
hi i work on cars for a living and drive a toyota corolla t-sport compressor the avensis are a good car and very reliable that is why i bought toyota so i dont have to work on my own car.
