Black plates are only legal in the UK on cars built before 1st January 1973.
I have occasionally seen black plates on newer cars, but that's just asking for trouble if a policeman sees it on a day when he's a bit bored or angry.
Also they look daft on a newer car, but cool on an E-Type, MGA, Sunbeam Alpine, etc.
Reflective plates look out-of-place on pre-1962 cars (those without year identifiers).
not legal, speed cameras cant detect your reg number so two choices, white or yellow back, unless you fancy a court date with the person who has supplied them
It is illegal for cars made after a certain year to have black number plates
most claasic car shows look in classic car mags they have advreds for them or on the web look under classic car parts
Depends where you are but a lot of shops still do them but be careful as they are illegal in cars after a certain year, 1985 i think. As the speed cameras cannot see them properly
Yes Neil is correct, pre '73 only.
oooooooh you can't say black!..thier "ethnicly challenged vehicle identity symbols"
