How do i reset the ecu on a landrover freelander?

You cant you need special soft ware that's only available to dealers.It requires a special pass word that id the dealer that's resetting it
You pay the tech so that you don't void your warranty. The OBDII machine they use when performing service carries an electronics signature, and being that you're dealing with a Databus system.. it's next to impossible to do it without the machine
you cant a land rover dealer has the proper software to reset it to you model and year hope this help you don't attempt it yourself you can do more damage than ever
get a tech to do that they have the soft wear to do that
you cant you need to find someone that has an auto logic system that diagnoses faults etc. can reset ECU. no way round it.
Before you do any of the other things suggested try this. It often works. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and then reconnect. If the ECU has locked this will often reset it. Its worth a try but be sure to have your radio code and keys out of the car.
