Answers:
Sounds like you have major problems its not to much pressure,It needs checking out but could be as simple as a loose baffle in your exhaust.
Old Ford Fiestas often are noisy. The MOT is no indication of the condition of the engine, other than emmissions.
You might have the big end knocking, get checked.
just a thought, but if it is a high pitched noise you might want to check the fan belt.
Its old
may need a squirt of wd40
You should really get that checked coz it could be the big end knocking, either that or you need a new car
You have to feed those squirrels under the hood occasionally. That noise is them protesting.
Being a technician with 20 years experience, I have come across lots of situations where the noise gets louder when you press down on the accelerator. In fact my own vehicle has done it many times on the way home from the workshop.
