The emblem you are asking about , I beleive is the god Mercury, which was found on the early models of the Mercury car.
I think that sounds like the Rolls Royce. i could be wrong .. i thought the RR had a Falcon or Eagel
I have spent the last half hour looking for the emblem that You are talking about, and I Know the on you mean but cant for the life of me remember it was not Mercury of that I am positive.
The closest that I can find on the net is the old bonnet mount of the rolls Royce but it is not the one
(I have a feeling it is American though)

You're either looking at either Rover or Minerva's old emblem, from what I can tell.
Try googling what I've found. I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I remember seeing that emblem before.
