Can i run my diesel volkswagon beetle on vegetable oil?
Answers:
Yes without any problem but you have to ensure it is properly filtered and also thin it with diesel 80% diesel in winter and up to 50/50 in summer you can apply for the forms from the tax office to make it legal the first diesel engines were made to run on peanut oil and will happily run on any oil so long as it is thin enough and filtered try this website for more info http://www.ravenfamily.org/andyg/vegoil..
no not unless you preheat it and then there is still a good chance it will destroy your injector pump.
yes you can get a kit look on the Internet greasecar .com
Don't try that, the diesel fuel also works as a lubricant of the high pressure pump - the main component of diesel engine. The vegetable oil may not be as good lubricant as regular Diesel fuel. Also it may clogg your injectors and other systems since you don't know how clean it is.
This is going to become more and more popular. There is a company in Carmarthen, Dyfed called Sundance. They will be able to advise. Really nice people and very helpful.
Mostly they are involved in solar energy and wood chip boilers but also sell bio-diesel. There is a city whoes buses used old chip fat just cant remember which, Sundance will know.
At per tax, I beleive you need to pay the duty on the cost per liter. So if its costs you 1p then you have to pay .7p ish tax!
You can run any diesel powered vehicle off vegetable oil. But here is the catch.the price would be too great to do so..
You sure can, be sure to mix it with diesel though. 50/50 would be fine. Performance isn't as good, but alot cheaper. Don't use oil that has been used before for cooking.
Also, when you pull up at lights, it smells as if there is a fish and chip shop close by.
You can but in time it will cause damage to your injection pump.Regards Mick
Only if you plan to have it for lunch.
