I cant get insurance for my husbands motorbike as no-one seems to have heard of it?

If anyone else here has a Kinroad 125xt-18 and are insured (hopefully) please tell me who with! He is getting it at the end of the week and although he wont be riding it until his cbt is sorted (about 2 weeks) we need it insured against theft. Only had one quote which was £279!! The bike brand new is only £900.
Please help.

Carole Nash is by far the cheapest UK Bike insurance company.

Depending on the age of your husband, and how many years no claims he has as a car driver, you should be able to get it below £200.

For example, if he is over 27 (as this tends to be the first big drop in prices) and has 3 or more years no claims for cars, then it should get cheaper, if he is over 30, and you are being put as a named rider on it also, then it will make it cheaper still.

However, £279 for a first time rider is not extortionate, as they are the highest risk for accidents.

If the bike data-tagged and / or alarmed, the premium will be lower, and keeping it in a brick built garage, or a metal shed, with an insurance approved padlock with lower it more.
try tesco insurance. or go onto www.ask.co.uk and put in insurance comapnys you will get a massive list of insurers to pick from hope this helps
279 is very competetive. its not the fact that its only 900 quid, its the fact that its an unknown chinese \ tiwan\ korean make.

you could try carole nash.. they insured all my bikes and trikes.

279 is a good price for a learner considering how much damage he could cause on the road?? personally i would go with them.

I dont see a problem with £279..Thats not alot really. Go with that. If it gets nicked, youve lost £900. This way, you pay only £279.
