Ebay is a good place to check, but if you want to buy off a reputable company, i would sugguest you pick up a copy of MCN or SuperBikes, there are usually lots of pages filled with great offers, especially Arai, Shoei, AVG and Simpson.

Your trying to save money with all the wrong things partner! Is saving couple of hundred bucks worth ending up in a hospital COMATOSED or PARALYZED?! If NOT DEAD! Sure riding is fun, but it's more fun knowing that your protected with the best gear! There's a VERY GOOD reason WHY some helmets are $600 and other's are $150! Remember, majority of fatal bike accidents involve HEAD injuries. RIDE ON!
If your in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area i would say try Cissbury leathers, D.H Autos or The Bike Shop (in DK motorcycles) as they are all quite reasonable in terms of price, choice and freindliness.
Dont forget though when you are getting something like a helmet, price should not be top of the list - make sure it meets current safety standards, suits your needs (i.e don't get a cross helmet for road use) and fits properly. Also do not take the display model even if it is cheaper as it could have been damaged or dropped thus reducing its effectivness, don't buy used helmets even if they look OK, and i would say buying off ebay (since you cant see the quality or try for a correct fit) is a bad idea.
