I have a 1931 Matchless Motorcycle & have been told that Enfield made the wheels is this correct?
Answers:
Parts swapping between brands was quite popular back in the early days of motorcycling, and was an early form of customizing. It was also quite common to upgrade the braking capacity of one bike by taking the brakes and wheel hubs from another motorcycle and lacing them into your bike's wheel rims.
If you can find any part numbers or trade marks stamped into the brake hubs or wheel rims of your Matchless, it may be possible to trace the original source of the parts.
