motorcyclecity.com/Military-bi. this looks like one to me
What would be the point. All motorcycles get better gas mileage then cars and trucks do now. My HD get 50 miles per galleon and I have a big bike. I've owned bikes that got better then 50 miles per galleon.
because diesel motorbikes produce a lot of noise which is not at all tolerable. suppose u like it but all the people listening to it will not appreciate ur bike. moreover the diesel engine is not successful in its small model as it requires more maintanance as compared to the petrol engine. and exhausted particles are more as compared to petrol engine thus creating more pollution
Enfield make a 400cc diesel bike.
Usually one associates diesel engines with high torque compared to gas engines. Motorcycles are fun because of their acceleration not low end torque. The heat coming off the engine may make it uncomfortably hot because of the higher operating temperatures of a diesel.
there are several do a search on google
ol example have very good mpg but are slow but a modern turbo diesel makes a good tourer
There is a Diesel motorbike that has been tested for the Army so all vehicles can use the same fuel. The problem with the Diesel is that due to it being a high compresion low reving engine it reqires a large flywheel to compensate, therefore the weight has always been the problem but in theory the Diesel is a much better engine.
The Enfield Robin was one attempt.
