Suzuki RM 80 / 85 motor can a 96 motor fit into a 88 frame? if not what can be fitted?

A 96 water cooled engine from a Suzuki RM80, can these be fitted into different year frames, such as 1988 frame, or were their significant mounting or equipment differences. Also in the case of the CR Honda frame, can an85cc fit into the 80cc frame, are they the same engine with just a bigger bore, and how much difference does the 5cc make, can't be much!! Lastly, I see Big wheel, and small wheel versions on these size of bikes, can a set of big wheels fit onto a previously built smal wheel version, or again are there more differences to contend with?

Answers:
hi jon,you wont be able to fit the rm 96 engine into an 88 frame as the engines mountings are entirely different, even making a bracket wont work as the drive cog wont line up,as for the rebored cr engine that wont be a problem as the head size is only increased on the inside of the bore, the main problems of making a small wheel mx into a big wheel one is the larger wheels need more clearance ie the back swinging arm may not be wide enougth nor the forks also the wheels will ride higher under the back mudguard and the forks which will change the handling of the bike drastically,e mail me at d.dallison@ntlworld.com if you need any other advice
Sorry, no idea.
