I own a Volvo V70 T5 (year 1998). Why are parts so expensiveIt is costing me quite a bit to maintain .?

thats cause volvos arent that common aroudn here and theyre from another country.

It's because they CAN charge more. It doesn't cost anymore to make parts for a Volvo than it does to make parts for any other car. Volvo's are viewed as a higher end car. Consumers will pay more to maintain a higher end car, so in turn the companies will charge more for parts. It's the same thing with Lexus.
In the US there are not many aftermarket companies that sell parts for Volvo's. That being said there is no Competition for the OEM market. No competition = charging what ever they want because no one will sell it cheaper. In my opinion give it another 5-10 years or so, now that Ford has got Volvo, and we will see more aftermarket choices come on the market.

because it is a performance model higher tuned means low profile tyres up rated brakes volvos generally aren,t cheap for bits even though some models share ford parts
Do not go to the dealer.
Find an independant repair shop that specializes in volvos we do exist.
Do not buy the pretty blue box in other words stop buying volvo original parts.
