Contact the buyer giving a time limit on when the bike should be collected with the payment of cash. I would give around 7 days to collect but give 3 days to respond to your request. Also tell the buyer that if they do not go through with it then you will have no other choice but to report them to ebay for non payment. When the 3 days are up you will have your answer one way or another. If they fail to respond report them stating non payment. Ebay will contact them with the dispute and they will have 7 days to respond. Once the 7 days are up they will either respond and it will be sorted via ebay's help or they wont. If they do not respond you can then close the dispute stating you no longer wish to continue waiting for them. You will get back some fees and you will be able to relist the item. You can relist it before the dispute is closed if you are certain the orginal bidder wont pay. They will have a unpaid strike on their account. Also when listing your item you can set your preferences on the type of people bidding. I have set mine to less than 3 feedback with no credit card on file cannot bid on any of my items, also people with unpaid strikes cannot bid. be carefull not to set it too high as we all have to start somewhere when new.
Also keep all emails to & from buyer as proof of contact.
Just report him to ebay and relist they will refund your listing fees.
i would give him one last chance, if he lets you down again, leave him negative feedback, then relist the bike, hope this helps.
i would relist it, and give him feedback as a timewasting non payer. only bid for things if you can pay within the alloted timescale - ususlly 3 working days .
Give him 1 more chance then if he comes up with another excuse he is just a waster but remember he may genuinely want the bike.
You can always file a claim with eBay to get your seller fees back and make sure you warn others about him using the feedback option
I would contact him to say that if he hasn't paid by x date, you are going to report it as an unpaid item, therefore you can claim your selling fees back. Then relist it. But first check his feedback as the guy may be genuine

On big ticket items I always reuire a nonrefundable deposit within 48 hours via paypal.balance on delivery
Wait till Sunday. Tell him If he doesent show up then report him as a non payer, claim your fees back and re list the item
If the deal does not go through this Sunday-tell the guy the deal is off unless there is a signifigant deposit put down by Monday, the following day. Ebay has money transfer options to help with this, check what you need to do to be covered.
Make sure the method of payment is a valid one regardless of deposit or full payment. There are some really good counterfeit money orders out there- Meet at a bank if possible so the bank can verify that the payment is not counterfeit. If the buyer shows up with a check when cash was agreed upon, or doesn't want to meet at a bank to have the check verified- forget the deal. Forget the deal if he wants to give you a cashiers check for more than the amt and have you 'refund' a shipper for part of it- It's a scam!
It's possible the guy is for real, but if you are tired of the hassle, you can contact Ebay about the buyer defaulting. Ebay will relist your bike and not charge you twice for the same sale listing.
I bought my bike on ebay a few years ago. I had some unexpected money issues come up after auction that made it neccesary to delay paying for the bike.
The seller and I came to the agreement that he would hold the bike for a $500 deposit (non refundable if I failed to finish payment per our agreement).I really wanted this particular make and model of Shadow, I agreed to add $300 extra to compensate the seller for not meeting the original terms of sale. I got the deposit sent within the deadline. Paid off the bike as agreed.
If your buyer delays again and won't agree to a deposit- notify Ebay and relist. If the buyer sends a valid form of deposit and still reneges on completeing the transaction-keep the deposit and relist. If you have proof of his default even with deposit, Ebay can relist without charging you twice for the same listing.
Make sure the buyer signs a written statement along with the deposit for proof he agrees the money sent was a non refundable deposit to compensate you for your time and effort in working with him.
I'd give the guy another chance. E-Bay will refund the fees, but they don't do it quickly. Also, you are taking a chance by relisting that it won't sell (I'm assuming you've got a reserve price set) the second time, and you'll be out those fees permanently. Try to push the guy to close the deal before going through the E-Bay hassle.
First of all tell Ebay, they will cancel his account.
Then relist.
