What kind of fuel would a yamaha DT50 MX take?
Answers:
It will be fine on unleaded, providing the Autolube system which injects 2 stroke oil into the fuel/air mix is in working order.
To check, remove the semi circular cover from the R/H front of the engine to reveal the oil pump. Turn the throttle and you should see a round cable pulley rotating maybe a quarter turn and springing back when you close the throttle.
On the front of the pump, facing you; you will see a crosshead screw about 5mm diameter, undo this and 2 stroke oil should drip out. Check the 2 stroke oil tank is full.
If the pump and associated plumbing is missing/ seized, not working, broken, which is common, then you will need to mix 2 stroke oil in the petrol instead. (around 220 cc per 5 litres to give a petrol / oil ratio of about 25 - 1).
I used to put aviation fuel in mine and it ran fine. (not jet A1) just standard aviation fuel used in single engine aircraft.
Gasoline
my motorbike mad boyfriend says unleaded
normal unleaded petrol from any garage
I used to have this bike and it took 2 stroke which would be unleaded with 2 stroke additive.
Hope this helps
regular 87 octaine fuel.
you'd have to use unleaded and add 2-stroke oil
