Which Moped/Scooter do you suggest?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Why do people who know nothing about Bikes comment on them?
I done exactly the same as you-i bought a Scooter for my partner zoe, on Christmas 2005. I ride a gsxr 1000 k5 and have never been in a crash(This bike has 159bhp!) as i ride with my eyes open. Getting back to your question, i extensively tested the 125 and 50cc market and found the best 125cc to be a Honda Dylan. I am 95kg's and this thing zipped me about and even gave me the odd smile or two. It has 14bhp and believe me it can beat some cars of the line.
It is very comfortable for a big man and will hit 65mph no worries.
They cost 2k new but a good second hand one will come in at 1.4k. Try www.twowheels.co.uk AND GET SOME WARM GEAR!
honda metropolitian
it has to b under 50cc , try online.
None theyre death traps,i know because my brother got killed on his motorbike,a few years before he had another bad accident and survived but was in hospital for about 2 months
buy a Vespa scooter..up to a 125cc..you can drive it on a provisional license.easy to drive.good luck
To begin with. listen to motorcycle/ scooter riders instead of people who think playing video games qualifies them to answer motorcycle questions.
Then, check out a Honda Helix.
Doesn't know how to drive a 4 wheel vehicle, doesn't take instruction well, weighs north of 250 and you want him a a two wheeler?? buy your self a nice big insurance policy on him for Christmas and turn him lose. Or, buy him some walking shoes and he can lose weight and not die.
I agree with Overtaxed, walk off the weight and save a life. Cars are dangerous enough for new drivers, but it's a death sentence on a motorcycle. Anything under 500cc won't have enough power for a man over 250lbs to merge with traffic, but that doesn't qualify for a provisional license. Suzuki Bergman, Honda Silver Wing or similar class scooters are safe (safer) for the 4 to 15 mile rides. Vespas, Elites and smaller style scooters are great for getting 175lb kids from the dorms/frat houses to the campus and back but that's about it. And if you can get 250lbs of inexperienced rider on top of an Elite, make damn sure you record it, because you have a guaranteed America's Funniest Home Video winner on your hands. Find a church you like and make sure to attend regularly, you'll want God on your side.
