i own a mk3 golf i got a set of 17in wheels of my mates vectra problem is i they catch the tyre size is 215.45.17 the car is lowered 35mm if i changed the tyre to 215.40s or even 35s. could any 1 solve my problem.. wit thanks

the vectra has a different offset than the golf, from memory the vectra is 43mm, never work right on the vw
spacers for your wheels, try a specialist tyre/wheels place
nimbus is correct, golf offset is 35 mm(distance from centre line of the wheel to the mating face) the bigger this number the more inboard(towards the centre of the car) the wheels will be.
check on the back of the wheels it should be written as ET35 for example!you don't say where they catch )front or back wheels, inside or outside).
for how much you'd pay for 40's or 35's you can buy a full set of new wheels and tyres to fit your mk3
just have ur arches widened a bit
