Heated rear windscreen on Skoda Fabia doesn't work - suggestions?
Please no jokes about keeping hands warm when you push it!
Answers:
As a Skoda driver myself, I don't find the comments above very nice.
Take it to your local dealer, let them check it out, it could be a number of things!
G-d doesn't want you to know
They've got windscreens at the back as well!!
Then wear a pair of gloves to keep your hands warm when pushing it in the winter. Oh sorry was not supposed to say that.
Did you check the right nail in the fusebox?
Maybe the twisted elastic band motor broke and the battery is not getting a charge?
Maybe you are not reading the Soviet car manual correctly.
Put the gear into K and try the switch when you are going downhill.
The wires that heat up the glass are really small and fragile.
Check the corner of the windscreen where the wires connect to the glass. That's usually a plug in connection. Make sure it's tight.
Its a Skoda - throw it out and get another.
You most prob have a loose wire! Take it to an auto electrician!!
check the switch.. and wiring loop.. try another fuse.
(anyway.. you wont need it untill winter)
Possibly a break in the heat elements themselves, there are repair kits with electro-connecting compound you can get to bridge the gap.
sell the car, then use all the money to buy something like an apple or even a small cabbage .
dont buy a heap of crap skoda!! . put plenty of petrol in it and put a match to it.

Possibly a failure in the element that you can't see. Put a new backglass in and see what goes down. Better yet, trace the circuit. You'll most likely find a bad ground. 99% of electrical problems are because of bad grounds.
