How many miles would I have left.?
Answers:
Depends how fast you're driving but you could expect 20 to 30 miles before you got in trouble.
The problem is though that when you run your tank that low it sends all the crap at the bottom (rust etc.)into the carburretor which makes the engine run less smoothly than porridge down a wall. So try not to.
42. The answer is always 42.
most cars read empty and still have 1.4-2.3 gallons of fuel left..get online and search for an online manual for your car..it would tell you
Depends on the car, the speed you're going etc. My hubby's car has a computer to tell you exactly how many miles you can do before his car stops completely! Very clever stuff.
Depending on how it is being driven. On a motorway, maybe 40 to 50 miles, round town maybe 25 or 30.
It's not a good idea to find out either!
Normally a gallon of go go juice left in your tank when the needle is on the top of the red.
Even with that gizmo in a car I would keep a gallon of fuel in the boot for those just in case moments when all the dash doohikies fail to work.
go the garage, get a petrol canister and fill it up, then when your low fuel light comes on, reset the tripometer until you run out, you will have the canister in your boot so you can get to a petrol station (oh, and keep some cash on you or in your car)
the only true way to find out is drive you car when the light comes on check the milage and when it cuts out you will know.
and i am sure you will sleep better one you know and after the long walk home.
