I passed my driving test in 96, what motorbike can i ride and do i have to sit a CBT test ?
Answers:
im almost sure you are ok to ride 125 not 100% though but i think that as you passed your test then the new laws only applied to new drivers pasing their test ring dvla im sure they will be able to let you know
The type of license you have should say which vehicles you are entitled to drive. I believe you have to sit another test to qualify to ride a motorcycle.
you used to be able to ride a 50cc scooter on a provisional liscence. this is not the case anymore. you will have to take your CBT, this will allow you to ride any scooter up to 125cc.
however the CBT only lasts for two years whereupon you will need to take it again or take the full bike liscence.
without the full bike liscence you are also required to show L plates on your bike at all times and are not allowed on the motorways.
In CA, you need to first pass the driving test for a car, then you can add on a motorcycle. Once you get a motorcycle license, you never have to take it again. I was thinking of dropping mine after I sold my motorcycle and they said I would have to take a test to convert back to just a car license. No test if I left my license the same way with car and motorcycle. Go figure??
my answer would be the same as justins
you can ride a 50 (49cc) without L plates.
