Is it possible?
Answers:
Yes , It happens to me.
yes it is, any action done over and over will eventulay cause damage to your tendents, bones etc etc, its best to rest in between long jurneys, if you develop pain or stiffness see a doctor.
Ive had a bike for over 10 years. No is the short answer. My foot used to get cramp mind you.
No you are a big baby.
yes you can, but you may wish to check for unusual vibration or if you are over reeving first.. you get use to it and your muscles in your arms and legs etc get use to the bike after a while.
yes, bad knees.
You can throw your back out using a bad chair, it happens over time so slowly you don't even notice until - ACK! And there it is. The motorcycle thing, well, yes, it could happen. But what occurs to me is, if that were the case, why do you not hear about other motorcyclists suffering from this particular thing all that often? Repetitive strain injury. I have not heard it is something which "comes with the territory," so I would say, yes, it is possible, but not all that likely or - often, for that matter. You are probably okay with your own hands. If you start to feel that around your wrists on either hand, don't they have special fabric support collars you can snap on around your wrists to give them that little extra bit of strength? Sent to you with good energies and the hope you will keep exploring this until you get an answer that makes sense to you. I am in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am also 63 years old, and have been watching very closely how my hands and wrists react to this keypad I'm using at my computer all the time for a variation of exactly what you asked about.)
i am no docter but yes
Hi D
a lot will depend on the motorcycle. I had a Ducati 450 that after about 1 hours ride, would have me looking for medical help!
My last bike a GS550 Katana had such strong carb return springs, that would give me pain in the wrist. I now have a Triumph Trident with Renthal bars that is great. Any Race Replica will give you wrist pain around town as most of your weight will be on them. There are devices available to fix to the twist grip that will ease the pressure on you.
Sometimes the wrists will get tired but the motion of accelerating isn't repetetive enough to cause injury. Once you get going, it's pretty much just a matter of holding the handgrip in place to maintain your speed until the next stop. Compare the number of times you rev the accelerator with the number of keys someone presses on a computer keyboard (common cause of carpal tunnel) during an eight hour day of work. I know I hit tens of thousands of keys a day while typing. I don't think I rev even 1000 times during a ride.
I think most people are confusing muscle fatigue with injury.
yes, but you will get used to it.
It's much easier to start the motor to rev it and your hands won't suffer at all.
Yes
so i,ve been told but i have been riding longer then i care to mention and i,ve been ok i would think you may through a sports bike or lots of vibes
What a coicidence , I have just got back from the Drs he said thats what I have , so yes its possible.
