Should caravans be banned from the road?

I have just spent two hours stuck behind a caravan unable to over take . He pottered along at a pathetic 20mph , I followed him round a roundabout and saw a queue about 7 miles long , Why don't these people just leave the caravan at home and take a tent instead.

Answers:
i do not have a caravan but they have a right to be on the road as well as all the muppets who tailgait and speed i will say that there are a lot of good caravan towers about and some awfull ones it is the awfull ones who should be taken off the road
yes i agree - - but - - topgear was soooooooooo funny the other night - i almost cried -
pricks, they are all pricks
How would they get their caravans to their homes in the first place?
I agree - there should be static caravan parks and that's all, people can just drive their cars or get the train/bus to them.
Wouldn't it be funny if someone was to let the tyres down on all caravans they spotted in Motorway service station car parks? ;-)
Where the caravans will go if they be banned?
No! caravans should not be banned just some of the caravan users. Some CV users are inconsiderate; some do not have any savvy; some are newcomers to the game; some just do not give a dam. However most do care about other road users and will endeavour when and where ever to avoid causing annoyance to other road users

Yes, and I am a caravan owner and appreciate that it can be very annoying to be stuck behind one but forgive please us for having a CV as they are just fun and wonderful. Let us enjoy our caravans just as others enjoy their cars motors bikes, and holidays etc; etc. Thank you.
According to Hammond, Captain Slow and Clarkson on Top Gear YES! And I agree, If u get a chance u have to watch the episode it is so funny and justice is done at the end! d=0)
don't be shy to use your horn..isnt it in the highway code that slow moving vehicles have to put over once 4 cars are behind them and it is safe to do so?..or i did i dream that.
What sort of loser gets stuck behind a caravan for 2 hours.
It crease`s me when people try to pass me and find that I`m being held up by some ditherer . And if you can`t work it out,yes I tow a caravan..a BIG one, with a 4 ltre Cherokee Its quite capable of towing at 90mph but the law of the land say`s 50mph on ordinary roads and 60mph on dual carriageways, so dont blame the caravan tow`ers
As a caravan user myself, the same road regulations apply to a car towing a caravan as any other road user. The speed limits are the same as most HGV,and with out them we would be stuffed.lol. If you get some silly person doing 20mph, you cant blame the caravan. the chances are this is how they drive all the time (going by my own father anyway.lol).

I have come to the conclusion that the older you are the slower you drive.. the more cautious you are. and as you so rightly say "the longer the queue behind you..
