What's your opinion of Ford Mondeos?

Answers:
Good cars. Just make sure you check the oil regularly as they have a tendancy to burn oil once a few miles have gone on the clock (and see if there is black ring around the end of the exhaust pipe which shows that it's already started)

Being a Ford, parts are cheap and they are cheap to run and fairly safe. People might say they are Chav cars but keep the spoiler and side skirts off it and don't be tempted by a steering wheel cover and you should be okay.
i really like mine, nice comfy car and loads of xtra spec even on base lx model. good news is because the lease industry loves em you can get a £14k modeo at 12 months old with 10000 on the clock for £8k. go on treat yourself!!
chavs motor. mostly owned by un-employed, tracksuit wearers
Nothing wrong with a Ford Mondeo, Cheap, Economical, low (ish)insurance, good family car, and if your inclined - easy to buy accessories for, ie. Wheels, Speedo dials etc

Buy a car you can afford that way you can spend more money on HOLIDAYS!
nothings wrong with them, i see many outside the dole office on wednesday mornings.
they should of stopped making them years ago.all they are is a larger escort, rubbish
Very good mid size saloon.better than a Vectra and i work on them.
I am on my second one, really good value for money & a very comfortable drive.
I have had many Mondeos and found them all reliable and good cars to drive. Love the diesels, but change the oil regularly as turbos cost up to £1400.00 to replace by a main dealer!
Often referred to as a 'MUNDANEO' as they are EVERYWHERE, and a bit bland. But, I've owned one in the past & found it quite comfortable, VERY predictable handling, reasonable for insurance, plenty space for most people, comfy seats, good engines - 1.8 Diesel or 2.0 petrol / diesel probably best.

The 2.5 V6 is OK, but not as 'interesting' as it could be.

Just don't get a 'poverty spec' GLS. minimum of GLX for any form of comfort level..otherwise it's just a box on wheels!!
Great car - reliable, great to drive, reasonably cheap to run, not bad looking, huge, comfortable, exclusive (the BMW 3-series now sells more in the UK, so the Mondeo is less common than the 3-series), great value second-hand (but good luck in finding one that's not silver). The higher spec ones are very well equipped. The lower spec ones have high levels of equipment, but always tend to lack that one thing you really wanted.

Its only problem is that the Ford badge isn't exactly prestige - but then I couldn't live with the image of a BMW driver, so maybe that's a good thing.
I drive a mondeo at present.
And I now want to buy a V6 Estate.
But I just like FORDS.
a good family car.great driver, fair mpg and easy on the wallet when it comes to buying parts.
They have a problem with the front sub-frame and it cost approx£650.00 to fix it and they try not to do it under warranty!
Be carefull!!!
The older models were a lot better if a little dated in the looks department. The newer re-skin version handles like a brick I find.
great cars cheap plentiful good parts wide choice of models saloons estates or hatch petrol or diesel budget from a few hundred quid to a few thousand highly recommended
