How do i remedy flatspots on my golf mk 4 115 bhp tdi?
Answers:
There are any number of reasons that could be causing the problem. When this happens, do any of the engine management lights come on? Is it a misfire,ie does the car go off a cylinder? It could be a dirty fuel filter, an air leak or an electronic problem. I would suggest that you take the car to a diesel specialist, more so than a VW dealer. The specialist is more likely to sort out the problem for you.
How can you have flatspots its a diesel?
Buy a decent car?!haha
Get a real car with some real HP.115hp my snow mobile has more hp
HEY dude this is exactly the cart I have got. The flat spots are a fact of life what you have got there is a pretty mundane family car Are you flooring the accelerator?
If it's happening on the motorway you need to get it checked out. But my guess is you may be expecting too much from the car?
hi i work as a diagnostic tech using vas 5052 vag dealer tool .the most likely cause of your flat spot is a faulty air flow meter .to check wether this is the cause dissconect the eletrical conector on the airfilter housing then drive the car if it goes better then this is your cause if not get it plugged in also check for split vac pipes!
Hi, this could be a number of things, too many to put on here. I would reccomend you get it checked out, either at a VW garage, or a VW specialist. The dealer will probably be more expensive.
try a re map it costs about 200 pound that could sort out that problem
115 bhp? That's a bit of an over-estimate .
Flat spots in the diesels are due to the nature of the engine. 1, turbo lag. 2, the power band of a diesel is not very wide so the power comes in lumps. Unless you've got it revved between 2800 and 3500, you're outside of the power band.
Just hold first gear a little longer, or if you're coasting and can't put it in first (due to that first-gear lockout safety feature) double clutch the car, and give it a shot of gas with the clutch fully disengaged while the car's in neutral.
Agree with the Prime Minister its probably your mass air flow meter,or an intercooler pipe leaking air.Regards Mick
It sounds like your Air Mass Flow meter is on the blink, they are expensive to buy and cannot be exchanged or taken back if not needed, best bet is to try for a 2nd hand one on somewhere like e-bay
