I need some information on upgrading my HD motorcycle with Stage One.?
Answers:
I don't think a dealer is gonna okay anything that isn't HD or screaming eagle. They have there own download for a stage one kit. Go in person to the dealer and ask in the shop.

Hi
I've had stage 1's fitted (and loud exhausts) to all my HD's from brand new. I have never had any problems -well not engine-wise anyway.
Technically, ANY tinkering that is done with an engine will void the warranty, regardless of manufacturer. The dealer should be talking to you face to face (quietly, unofficially and off-the-record) and agreeing that they will 'look after you' should anything go wrong, supposing, of course, you intend to have them supply and fit.
It will make a tangible difference to the performance to a 1340 evo up to the (2005 model) 1450 5 speed. If you cruise the second-hand section of almost any dealership you will see that almost everyone fits a stage 1 kit as a matter of course.
You don't say what actual year model you have and Harley are changing their lines every six months it seems (bigger engine - extra gears etc) I understand from a dealer that the new 2006 engine model was causing great consternation as you could no longer fit the stage one kit due to HD getting into bed with the US Government and being seem to go all noise and pollution environment friendly. Last I heard the 'boys' at my local HD shop were working on it.
It's up to you
Shaws (eastbourne uk) HD tend to be fairly straigh talking - why not give them a buzz.
I had my 883 sportster 55 reg done from new with a stage one. It sounds fantastic HD of Newcastle said they will sort it out at MOT time and would honour the warranty if need be. they didn't offer me the pipes they took off and they were brand new.
I am now looking to go for the stage 2 conversion up to 1200cc.
Or i may just seel the bike and get a new wide glide!
Give the guys at Battistinis a call!
It will need dyno tuning to get max performancve out of it.
On modified 1340 the dyno can 'find' up to 15 hp with correct settings (some of bolt on kits lose power until correctly tuned)
I had the dealer install a stage 1 on mine before I picked it up. They told me it wouldn't affect the warranty as long the work was done by an HD dealer. It may depend on the dealer. Since I never had a warranty issue with my bike (imagine that), I guess I really don't know.
