Why is it only old biddies that drive austin metro's?

Answers:
because theyre British of course
and very safe
you may need to explain what a biddie is
I think that it comes down to word of mouth at the village fetes. Reliable and fashionable- Where can I get mine???
Because they only have a top speed of 20 mph? (Well the ones I drive behind only go that fast!!) \An old biddy is an old woman or man normally which use a granny hopper (shopping basket on wheels!))
You'll find its not just old biddies but a lot of students too.
I had 2, in my student years. I found them reliable and cheap, which I reckon is a good reason for old biddies to pick them too.

Old people and students are often the type that don't care too much about style and looking good but need a car to get them from A to B that is affordable.
My fella used to work at Rover and he says that (generally) along with Maestros, Metros go forever and it ends up being the bodywork that rots around them.

Oh, and they do go above 20mph - I drove mine up and down the motorway regularly.
