Also check out car shows if there are any in your area(never been to a vw show where there wasn't atleast one car for sale) as check out the website of local clubs(can find some great deals through clubs). As well the clubs can prove alot of help with find a car, checking it out if you don't know what problems to look for, etc.

And specifc reason you want a run down one other than the cost? Just keep in mind you can save alot of money down the road getting a solid car to start with rather than one that'll need a ton of parts and work. Even if you do all the work yourself, parts still have to come from some where.

Or, there is a VW camper club and no doubt they have lots ofr sale. We used to come across that all the time when we run a 2CV club. Rather than people wanting to join, they just wanted to get rid of run down MOT failures to enthusiasts (at a price).

well vw t2 spitscreens r very rare,and U'll be looking at about 20 grand for a good one. my sister bloke has one.
try looking in the vw magazine, of going to vw shows, bug jam is meant to be good, U could also try eBay like other people said.
