Where are all the original old skool bikers these days from Wakefield and surrounding areas?
Answers:
This one's living in Selby now.
Ah those glory days of headbangers heaven at the Chancery on Monday nights, the lunacy of the John F Kennedy of Fridays, The fear of getting stabbed in the Turk's Head on Saturdays. The ring a ding of Suzuki X7s, 350LCs and RD400s complete with Allspeed spanny chambers outside Redbeck and Squires Caffs most nights.
Time has caught up and even us crash survivors from the late 70s /80s now prefer to sip beer at home with a nice comedy DVD these days.
Still got my cutoff jacket though and all the rally badges are intact. The jeans with the beer towels sown on the backside are long gone though.
Ah the smell of Patchouli oil, the whiff of BelRay SI7, the lingering odour of chains boiled in linklife chain grease on mum's cooker hob, enough to bring a tear to the eye.
Now a sensible, quiet CB1300 with missus on the back and a defensive riding style is the order of the day.
theyve been kicked to sh1t by the mods!
