Rechroming is very difficult and not cheap, unless the parts are perfectly smooth then any slight imperfections will show up, my advice would be to replace the parts, however if you cannot get the parts then don't just go with the cheapest or first place you find as you may regret it. Best thing to do is searce on the net for people that restore classic cars or bikes in your area, they should be able to help or advize better.

Heard it can be expensive, but then you get what you pay for. Before committing to any work, ask if you can see previous work that they have done, this wiil give you an idea of quality.
