I got hit by a buses mirror part 2?
i have been in touch with the cops and i've seen the doc's, i don't care about getting any money but i would like them to say sorry at least.
so what can i do?
Answers:
complain to the bus company. They can't appologise if you don't tell them what happened! Also how close to the curb were you? Bus mirrors don't overhang by that much.
go postal on the bus company!!
Have you got in touch with the bus company?
Its not the Public Transits responsiblity that your a moron and oyu stand to close to the curb. YOu should owe them a sorry.
Take pictures of your injuries and threaten to go to a no claims court
Then you will get a sorry
Hope you recover soon.
Its easily done and I have had some near misses myself.
Speak to the bus company.
call the bus company with the time and place and they should know which bus was on with which driver,, oh, and you should claim them for everything you can get, because he didn't stop when he could have killed you.
good luck,
First get some money then let them tell you their sorry..because they will try everything to make it look like your fault.
make a formal complaint to the bus company. i think that is awfull, especially as the driver didnt stop. Also legal action may be needed if the bus driver doesnt admit fault.
You should at first right a letter of complaint to the bus company, then I would speak to a solicitor, he will know the correct course of action for you.
Definately talk to the bus company. I would ring, then write a full description in a letter. Keep hammering 'till you get a reply of a decent nature. They may have a form you can fill in.
If you can include any information such as description of the bus (number/destination) and the driver (if you saw him). Also time of occurance and even any witnesses if you have any. I guess it is possible to include a doctor's report etc if you wish. Keep all this information and any more incase you want to take legal action, should it arrive at that stage.
It doesn't matter that it was an accident as these happen; what actually matters is the fact that the bus didn't stop to address the situation - it's technically a hit and run really I think.
I remember a time a few years ago when it was afternoon rush hour and I was standing up on the bus on the way home (inside not on the roof!) The bus stopped suddenly and I lurched forward and feel flat on my front and hurst my ankle. The bus driver carried straight on even though I let out a loud yell that would have been heard by him and he must have seen my actualy slide to the front of the bus!!
Yep, he carried straight on. I can't believe that I didn't do anything about it. I think I was in shock. Fortunately someone gave me a seat as I couldn't stand. All I wanted to do was get home and I didn't actualy take any details or anything. After filling in a complaints slip they sent me some free bus tickets. Not really enough compensation methinks!!
sue them and the bus driver, goto CAB http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/.
See a solicitor and sue; if they get away with it once, theyll do it again- it might be an old lady next time, and kill her!
