Is it true that an Eclipse's engine rusts out after about five years?
.but I really like my Eclipse and take pretty good care of it.
Unfortunately, I can't yet afford to keep my Eclipse in a garage, so I'm worried her engine will rust out.

In 26 years in the auto business, and longer than that working on vehicles, I have never seen an engine rust out. I have seen engine blocks that were left in the weather have rust on them. I have seen engines with holes in the side due to a piston rod or bearing failure. I have never seen an engine rust through!
You may have body panels that rust through, and you may get some surface rust on the engine if you live in an area where corrosive road chemicals are used in the winter. You do not need to worry about the motor rusting out!!!
That is not true.
that may be true, but if you look too closely at it you'll damage your eyes.
I'll get my coat.
Everything rusts but FORDS!
I dont think it will rust. The body panels might depending on where you live. Just keep maitaining it and you wont have any problems.
tch, only american cars do that.
to keep metal from rusting coat it with oil hummmm your engine has oil in it
works for me
you can get a engine that has sat out in the rain for years rebuild it and it works fine it wont rust out it will get surface rust
if you dont have antifreeze some cooling parts will rust
your car will last a long time
i have a 98 eclipse. it doesn't rust out. and i've never heard of engines rusting out. the ONLY thing that I can say that annoys me about the eclipse, is the battery acid build up on the battery. so it needs to be cleaned a couple times a year. but that's easy enough to remember. just do it at your regularly scheduled oil changes.
