Buy a German car, they look good and are very reliable (I own one myself). Though they can be expensive and also the maintenance is very expensive..

I have a Peugeot 206 and it's great - easy to drive, comfortable, easy to park, and economical.
c'mon, have you seen the scion models or the 350z or the new 2007 nissan altima and sentra? you may say they are ugly but they are much more longer lasting than other cars and they tend to have better gas milage. but i guess you can get a tiberon, thats korean. or you can buy a corvette z06 or (my dads personal favorite, )a cobalt or a new VW rabbit thats comming out next year.
Assuming money is an object , hence your looking at a jap car . take a look at a hyundia coupe , its called tiberon in the US I think

it all depends on what you want from a car and your price range. my advise would be to get a car from one of the smaller, lesser known car manufacturers. they are very often made by large companies but with a lot more extras, cheaper and with better after sales.
for instance: The Seat Leon Cupra R is faster than the Golf GTi, cheaper by about 4k, made by VW, comes with a stack load of extras and is a better looking car. i would though be tempted to stay away from cars such as BMW or Mercedes, they lose value so fast it is unbelivable. you also don't really want a french car as they are traditionally ****!
