Career in motor industry - help please!?
Answers:
so you want to test-drive ferrari's and porches - who doesnt!!!
If you want to test drive, you will probably need some mechanical knowledge. Its all very well driving a car at 130mph, but you need to be able to write a report afterwards and a degree in enginering will help.
You may have been messing about under the bonnet for years, but no employer is going to take this into account - they want to see qualifications.
Why dont you contact some manufacturers and see if they have any training programmes or advice they can give you. Write to them all, big and small, you will probably have to start at the bottom, (skoda's -yuk!!) but who doesnt?
You are only 18, you will need a lot more years of driving skills behind you, probably advanced driving exams, so look into that too.
Also you could contact race tracks and see what info they can give you about test driving.
Hope it goes well, like I said you are only 18 so its unlikely you will find a test driving job without further qualifications, but start making contact and getting information and see where it leads.
i have done a degree in motor vehicle maintenance and reapair.
To be honest it was a complete waste of time.
