Why buy a caravan?

For the cost of a caravan you could take many expensive long haul holidays around the world.

But no - instead people would prefere to pay thousands of pounds for a tin box on wheels that they have to tow around with a maybe more expensive vehicle that they would possibly buy if they had no caravan to tow. They pay daily parking fee's at caravan sites to park this wonderful tin box - and park on a site with hhundreds of other mobile tin box owners -and they piss off every motorist on the road in the process.

WHY CARAVANS!!!

Answers:
With a caravan you can go away whenever you like, school holidays, weekends, it does work out cheaper for families with kids, a night in a hotel or b & b will cost you between £35 and £80 (Per person) , a night on a camp site will cost you between £2.50 and a tenner (very high season)..it all makes sense to me.

I'd much rather own a caravan than have 5 holidays abroad.
I drive a GRAND CARAVAN I Love it. It's got a jammin' sterio, leather interior, removable seats, Power Everything, Did I mention I LOVE it? Its an awesome ride, not your average soccer mom, infact NOT a SOCCERMOM.
Why buy a caravan indeed!

Probably to waste money on the extra fuel needed to tow it around but surely all caravan owners have a really sadistic straek as they do know just how much having to drive behind them as they wind their merry way down country roads annoys other road users
I think caravanners have certain features in their personalities! They annoy every other driver on the road and then get even worse when they get to their destinations! I would never buy a caravan, camping is more fun anyway and much cheaper too!
you can go where you like.. nice and cosy, have a sense of freedom away from the rat-run package holidays.. and a caravan is for life..not just for chri--- summer.
freedom of choice!
i know some pikies that are selling one
I did not realise that roads were for the exclusive use of drivers of cars who travel at speeds beyond their capacity and whose impatience borders on the frighteningly dangerous. I was not aware that you were in a race.
I assume that you know about speed limits and about the speed limitations of towing vehicles - there is a handy reference for you below.
I am disappointed that you would like to prevent me and my family (6 people) from enjoying touring all over Britain and Europe with my huge, comfortable, well-equiped caravan.
Every day I travel along the traffic conjested roads of the Dorset coast - but I don't mind at all because I use a large and very powerful motorbike. Perhaps I have seen you in my mirrors.
