I want to take my car to europe for 1 year, is there any insurance company who will cover me.?
Answers:
bell.com gives you 6 months in a year so you can do 12 months if you do 6 in 1 and 6 the next.
insure your car once you get to europe, if you do it in england your insurance automatically covers you for the rest of europe and no green card is needed.
USAA Federal Savings Bank offers car insurance to U.S. Military stationed in Europe. There are others, I would search internet on european insurance. As for the Green Card, one of the other posts mentioned that a Green Card wasn't needed in England. Though this may be true, if you travel through europe, you will have to provide some sort of proof of insurance at border crossings and such, i.e. green insurance card. A driver's licesnces is another issue, your U.S. driver's liscences will not work and getting a European Driver's Licsneces is EXPENSIVE. Also, your vehicle must be registered in Europe, this reguires an inspection and a registration fee, again this can be EXPENSIVE. Lastly, what kinda of car, if you have a breakdown and need parts, THIS GETS REAL EXPENSIVE, if you own a U.S. only model like a Ford F150. Look, my suggestion if you are going to be in Europe for a short time is to look at web sites that carter to U.S. military personel, we are always moving and these personel will have inexpensive autos for sale relatively cheap. Renting is another option, but again quite expensive. If you are going to spend the year in europe traveling and partying there are other transportation options that will be less expensive.
