Where can I get cheap car insurance I'm 17 male and need comprehensive cover?

I have a saxo 2001 that cost £2000, I don't mind going on my mums insurance, anyone no a cheap place?

Answers:
Cheap? No such thing, you have two strikes against you already. 1) You are male 2) You are 17

Have your parents put you on their policy.
no such thing as cheap car insurance 4 your age
Try confused.com or the auto trader
try fred loya!!
Do the confused.com thing for starters, they will try most insurers, then if you can think of any others try them as well.
You will pay a lot as you are highest risk group, then next year if you get chance protect your no claims.
You may get it less if you shop around and accept some limitations to your insurance policy, also accept a ridiculous volutary excess.
But unfortunatley for a young whippersnapper like you, theres no such thing as cheap.
Oh Yeah! Going on your moms insurance may be cheaper but you wont build up any no claims bonus of your own, in the long run it may benefit you to have your own insurance from the start, even if you do have to sell a kidney to pay for it. Lol!!
Could try 1st Quote or bedford Insurance
try direct line - they gave me the cheapest quote.. although your insurance will depend on the area you live in so a different insurer may be better for you where you live. shop around using online quote services and see what quotes you can get, be prepared to spend some time - you can save hundreds (literally)

also, have you completed a pass plus driving course? - as long as you haven't had any claims against your insurance already, having the pass plus certificate can get you a discount with certain insurers. (sometimes equivalent to the first years no claims bonus)

just a word of caution about going on your mums insurance . be very careful especially if she has many years no claims bonus (unprotected) - if you have an accident on her insurance it not only goes against the name of the driver at fault but also the insurance policy holder. I found this out the hard way when a named driver had an accident on my policy and sent my insurance through the roof.

hope this helps you, enjoy your car - the insurance is a lot but drivings great - its well worth it! :)

P.S. the advantage of taking out your own policy is that you will start to build up your own no claims bonus - the first year makes a huge difference to your insurance premium, and also; tesco car insurance is another good one to try.
Ask admiral
confused.com will give u a quote from several different insurers and it saves having to phone and give your details over and over again.
www.bell.com was good for me i saved about 350 on all the others
Ask your father to insure it, and put you as a named driver.

Direct line now do a policy where a named driver builds up his/her OWN no-claims bonus
Try Quinn Direct, they are based in Ireland and this helps reduce costs. Good luck!
Try putting your mother on your insurance. I know someone who had a drink-drive conviction and was under 21 - putting his mother on his insurance, rather than the other way around saved him almost £2000
