Is it true that America doesn't have roundabouts or traffic islands in the road systems?

Answers:
hang on, so people who dont know how to use roundabouts (or turnin circles) are allowed to drive, surely thats what driving tests are for, so people know how to drive..

maybe if people were taught how to use roundabouts theyred be less accidents cos roundabouts help congestion and are a lot more useful than normal crossroads or intersections, but then again it is america..
No, I have one in my town, Sarasota, FL, Siesta Circle.
we do, they just aren't as common as they are in England.

I have seen them in New Jersey (flemington, UGH!) they have a few on campus at Michigan State, and I just drove through a few in Colorado. so they are around.
we have a few, but it is the minority, not very many. we have intersections mostly. There are only 1 or 2 roundabouts in my city but thousands of intersections.
We do have roundabouts, but they are usually called traffic circles. They were more common years ago. Lately, states have been turning circles into regular intersections because circles tended to have lots of accidents.
They do exist in some cities in america, however most people that come to them and aren't familar with them easily get confused. I've seen people go the wrong way in round abouts because it prevented them from making a left turn (or so they thought)
Roteries, a lovely little invention. We just call them different things.
They had one in Clearwater Beach, Florida, but had to close it due to the amount of accidents caused by people who didn't understand how to drive through it.
I believe there are a few. But they are hard to find. Most people haven't ever heard of or seen a roudabout or traffic island. The only reason I know what they are is because I visited Australia.
We have them on the east coast and many in Florida. I have even seen one near Huntington, In
We still have them, but not very common. Most are long gone.
There's none in Ohio that I know of either.
They do have them but not as many as over here. Alot of junctions in the UK are managed by roundabouts where as in America they tend to lean towards traffic lights.
Parts of California has them, because I have driven round them. Beverly Hills I believe or Hollywood area.
