Is there a HGV satalite Navigation System on the market?

Answers:
Yes. try Garmin or contact Navtech directly who should put you in contact with specialists that provide specialised HGV information such as low bridges and restricted roads.

Most of these are relatively cheap now and will work off a mobile PDA or phone, personally I would use a BlackBerry as they have good battery life and are fairly ruggedised to cope with being bumped around in a lorry all day.

Buy a GPS device (e.g. TomTom) like everyone else. It does matter what vehicle you're in.
Ask at Halfords to see if they do a 24 volt version of Sat Nav if not you might need a voltage converter.
You can configure a Tom Tom to avoid high speed roads, or weight limits, so that'll do fine. You may have to but an aerial extension however, as it recieves the signals through the windscreen, A HGV's is vertical, so that may be more difficult.
