Does the Paris Metro have travel cards?

and if so, is it possible to buy them in advance/online?

Answers:
I just got back from Paris and it was really easy to get a pass for the metro for one day, one week, or one month. If you want to buy online check out:

Make sure where ever you buy, you know what zones you want to travel in so that you get the right one (Just Paris is Zone 1-2)
They DO issue travelcards, and here's the english version of the website:
They did when I was on honeymoon there in 1980.
not online
They have many - and fortunately - the machines at Gare Du Nord (and I suspect in other places too) can give you all the info in English too.
I'm not certain about getting them in advance, but if travelling by Eurostar, you can order them with your main ticket.
Yes but it's usually cheaper to get a carnet of 10 tickets. It used to cost 10 EUR (about 2 years ago). Each ticket will allow you to make one full journey (on rail or bus, you have to use a new ticket if you change from rail to bus or vice-versa). Typically you will make a maximum of 5 or 6 metro/bus trips in one day.

Here's the link for the travelcards - they are called "cartes mobilis" (note they are classed as "tourist tickets")

Here's the link for the carnet - they are called "tickets t" (it now costs 10.90 EUR for 10 tickets I just checked):
