Can you recycle old bicycles ?

Answers:
yes u can take them to ur local dump and they will dispose of them 4 u thats in the uk
As in reuse the parts? Yes you just might not get the best bike out there. All you really need is something that gets you from point A to point B.
dependss.. you can sell the metal to a scrap dealer . or u can clean up the metal parts and rig up a buggy of sorts
It depends, you should check on ebay to see if there is a market for them. If these are donated bikes and you want to dispose them, then try Goodwill Industries. If you are recycling the bikes, you should be a fair mechanic with the space to store them. You can salvage parts from one brand to fix another brand. However, if you are doing this for an income, you would advised to find something else.
Check out this site www.oldroads.com before you throw away an old bicycle. Just because a bike is old, doesn't mean it's junk! If you come across a Schwinn or similar bike, even just a frame, from the 60's or earlier..it could be valuable! People restore these bikes. I personally own a 1952 Schwinn that I picked out of somebody's GARBAGE as a bare frame..I restored it (lots of places sell parts) and last time I checked I saw a bike just like mine that sold for over $2500! It doesn't have to be a '52 Schwinn, either..lots of bikes from that era have value, and also newer bikes like the "chopper" style bikes from the 60's and 70's.
recyclye a bicycle - I like it!
