Is it easy to de restrict my 600 bandit myself?
Answers:
if your in britian and have'nt been licensed for 2 years and derestrict the bike and you get smashed you know the insurance company won't touch you. seriously mate don't think about it. i got smashed last year sitting at lights and i'm the one who got breathalized. keep her at 33 do your 2 years and then let the 70 odd horses out. but to answer your question it probably will have a restrictor fitted over the air intake. but any bike mechanic worth his salt wont do it untill you've done the time. have you seen what a bandit can do? cruising in 4th kick down into 3rd and them things are away. and i'm a blade rider! i apologise if i seem demeaning but sh'it hapens and its usually the rider who gets all the shi't.

Take the exhaust front pipes off, and de-weld the little cones that are in the front exhaust. Then check all vaccum pipes and make sure they are sucking properly.OR.chip your bike in for a bandit 1200!
would you like a huge big bill if you get it wrong? no i didnt think so..get a technician at a motorcycle shop to do it.hell of a lot cheaper..and correctly done too!
"Factory restricted"? Surely you mean it was done by the dealer, not the factory - the only restriction on a factory-fresh Bandit 600 is the exhaust can, and you'll have to change it for something like a Quill or Micron. If it was dealer restricted, then it'll most likely be a washer in each of the intakes, which should be removed by someone who knows what they are doing.
The restriction would have been done by either Suzuki GB or your dealer. Either way it will consist of four discs placed in the carb inlet rubbers (engine side) to remove these you have to take off the fuel tank, airbox and then the carbs, remove the discs (they look like big washers) then put the carbs back etc, hey presto all the horses are out of the stable.
The bike will accelerate faster and use more fuel but the top speed will be unaltered.
