Why does putting a car key fob to your head increase the range?

I recently found out (dont ask me how) if you are out of range of your car key fob and you place it to your head the range increases. Try it yourself if you dont believe me, get out of range by walking away from the car and then put it against your head, it works! Why is this, is it to do with elecromagnatism, fillings or even fairies!?!?

Makes me wish i had a car lol
This was looked at on "TOP GEAR" your body is used as an Ariel and increases the range.
It isnt putting to your head that increases it is the fact that you have rasied it above the roof of the other surrounding cars. Put it at your head height and put your arm out and see it will work better than at hip height.
Your body acts as an aerial...
Its wired i know, i laughed myself silly when i saw it on Top Gear. Your body acts as a booster Ariel, improving the range..don't try it too often though, you might fry your brain lol :o)
Yep..its the fact that your body acts an aerial, thus boosting the signal. Its the same (appart from the type of signal) as if you hold the aerial to your televsion set - you gain a better picture. Human bodies are good at conducting signals, thus by sending the signal into your body, it turns you into an aerial. You'll find that chin is often a common place, as it when bone is close to skin, and its bones that acutally act as an aerial. Simple!
